A Public Health Nurse has the oath of preventing diseases, promoting life and health to a community or society as a whole. They are the nurses that are thoroughly involved to the public, they make sure to provide evidence based data to the clients along with treatments that are scientifically proven. They also dedicate themselves to offer holistic quality care, spread knowledge and skills, advocate the rights of our clients and manage to establish a community that is accommodated with nurses that are willing to commit a lifetime of service despite of the constant risk of diseases that they are faced with.

Community Health Nurses are the qualified nurses who provide care and support to the community. They are in-charge in helping the public to improve their health and maintain their healthy lifestyles. They focus not only on helping individuals but also on increasing positive outcomes for an entire group. They have to understand the needs of a society’s inhabitants. They use their skills to provide care to the patient and guide them to the necessary healthcare that is beyond the nurse’s scope of practice. They provide assistance to pregnant women, the elderly, homeless or disabled by directing them to social services. They may carry out preventive patient care in communities by administering vaccinations and health exams. They may also distribute birth control and information about proper nutrition. And they educate communities about ways to reduce the likelihood of contracting and spreading some of the common diseases. Moreover, community health nurses may travel to serve populations in remote locations. They may work alone or as part of a multidisciplinary team. They work toward providing successful outcomes for critical situations. In performing their duties, they serve as agents of healthful changes in communities. Because of their interaction with underserved populations, community health nurses can advocate for better services and inform policy makers about needed reforms in healthcare.

Community health nurses are responsible for the health data or health status gathering in families in a certain community, which helps in identifying the community's health concerns, and they are also the ones who give the appropriate nursing interventions needed by the community, for example, conducting immunizations and health exams. They also provide health teaching to the residents in order for the residents to be more cautious on ways how to reduce the contracting or spread of different diseases, or to have more knowledge about their health status, and also about proper nutrition and birth control. Community health nurses are risking their lives by allowing themselves to be sent to remote areas just to provide care for the community. Community health nurses are the main tool on promoting health, preventing diseases, and prolonging the lives of their clients.

Community health nurses are health care workers responsible for providing treatment. They also provide education to the community members on how to decrease the chances of acquiring such diseases and how to maintain one's health. Additionally, they conduct health screenings and administer immunizations during healthcare progams and at the same time acts as healthcare advocates in the public. The role of community health nurses is to control or eliminate health issues within the community. By correcting poor health practices and maintaining a safe home or work environment, patients lower risks to their health and require fewer visits to health care facilities. Community health nurses provide treatment to patients. Additionally, community health nurses offer education to community members about maintaining their health so that they can decrease the occurrence of diseases and deaths. They plan educational assemblies, hand -out fliers, conduct health screenings, dispense medications and administer immunizations.
